1. Please keep the document in sequence this saves a lot of time for both the parties.

Don't even try to call them, no one is taking the phone call, they will only tell you that you need to email them on their ambassy website.

3. Regarding bank statement: they insist on the latest statement so if your bank produce statement in cycle of say 15 days try to get visa appointment on dates which are closer to your last cycle. Example if u have appointment of 15th March they expect bank statement having transaction details at least till 10th March from the current account .

A quite pleasant experience. I was unable to address my issue at the consulate but was directed politely and descriptively to the another institution.

4. You must produce your old passport if you have any. In case of situation like it was stolen etc it's better if you carry police report or proof of disaster. The executive might give u a piece of paper to make your case to London consulate.

Went to the French consulate on friday, had a very nice welcome from the lady at reception. She been helpful, polite and it was a pleasure to speak to her. The average note look not very fair at least for this women who s doing a great job.

I haven't seen a place so unhelpful since I needed those service there, they only helped me out with my 'procuration' documents to vote and still the papers were not send properly and I had to come back to tell them ...

I was jittery after reading all reviews about Edinburgh consulate but to my surprise the process was smooth. Tslcontact has been doing good job. Few pointers from our experience

2. My husband had his visa pic with his glasses on . They thought the glass was having reflection on eye so advised him to get another set of pic from near by Sansbury without his glasses on .

5. We bought insurance from Expedia some allianz insurance which consulate lady declined stating it would not be acceptable and advised us to buy insurance available at their counter. So better check on insurance before buying whether it provide information in format stated in checklist.

They don't even propose a service to renew your documents such as passport, driving licence or ID documents...

The staff on call is not trained, they cannot even answer a simple question, and seemed in a hurry and unwilling to help, even though I had booked an appointment. You'd expect that at least, they could devote 10 min of their precious time. Their standard answer seemed to be "contact the London embassy"., and "we're very busy with the elections right now". Not helpful at all, I wonder why their role is in Edinburgh!
