I want to raise complain on greenmotion service. Yesterday we arrived to Edinburgh at night. I was with my wife and two small daughters. We reserved car WV Golf or similar in GreenMotion. When we signed all documents manager showed us the car and it appeared to be Toyota Yaris. When I told him that it is not the class we ordered and that there were not enough space for our bags, manager started to convince me that it is actually the same class. I refused to take this car and since they didn’t manage to find alternatives I asked to refund. When we asked what are alternative car rental services, manager told me indifferently that almost everyone is closed. We were left on the street without car at night with 2 kids. I asked can we try to fit this Toyota Yaris, manager told me that he has already cancelled booking and new price will be 3 times higher. That killed us and we left in frustration.

The Green Motion team at Edinburgh airport made the whole pick-up and drop-off experience easy. Unfortunately the car I'd booked wasn't available at the time I arrived but Enes was very helpful and offered me a free upgrade at no extra cost on the spot. On returning the car I didn't have to go looking for someone to do a hand over as the helpful young lady at returns spotted me arriving and guided me to a parking space and quickly and efficiently did the necessary paperwork allowing me to get to my flight without any unnecessary hassle. The car was clean and in good condition and the fuel policy of returning it with the same amount of fuel as when I received the car made it nice and simple.

We arrived to collect our rental vehicle on a hectic day 22nd of December. The staff were under great pressure due to high levels of rentals. We were dealt with swiftly and professionally. Our wait was made all the more pleasurable with the friendly and attentive service we received from Gabriel and Nick. They were excellent and changed our experience from a potential negative to a massive positive. Upon our return we were treated courteously again by a happy Gabriel.

I highly recommend Green Motion. It's a good service. They are in an office hut on the NCP car park, so don't expect to be warm if they are busy and you have to wait. Apart from that, they are really great!

This is the worst company at Edinburgh airport. I know as I travel to Edinburgh every month and I have so far had couple of problems with them. I will not use them again and I would recommend to anyone to avoid them at any cost. The look appealingly cheap but once you take into account all the made up fees they will charge you plus the inconvenience of having to take a 10 minute shuttle to the airport, they are not worth it. My experience with them today was that I had to catch a very early flight: 6:40 am. They were closed when I arrived at 5:55 and since I did not want to risk missing my flight, I left the car and the keys next to their office and called them later. There was no problem and the guy I spoke to said he checked the car and everything is fine; just to find out later that they charged me £75 out-of-office hour service. I am still confused as to what service exactly that was, as I received thin air service given that their office was closed. They are complete crooks, arguing on the phone with their manager was like talking to a robot who completely dismisses what you are trying to say and just repeats the same phrase as if reading from a script. Avoid!

My car rental was very smooth and efficient thanks to Ali, at the Edinburgh Airport branch. I also received a free upgrade probably because my rental was very early in the morning and there were plenty of cars to choose from. I ordered a Peugeot 108 or similar and got a Mercedes A class!

It would be great if they could reduce their deposit from £400 to £250 however I found that my credit card deposit was unfrozen within two days which is much quicker than any other car hire company I have used recently.

Originally wrote a 5 star review for the service provided by staff at pick up and drop off at Edinburgh Green Motion. The one star is for the follow up to a fine incurred for driving on a bus lane by accident. No problem with the fine but Green Motion do not charge your card with the fine they pass on the info to you. My problem with Green Motion is that they charge an inflated 84 pounds for an admin charge. Such a large fee just looks like a money making scheme to me. The email response I received was very corporate and I only received one reply. So one star review for being corporate and cherging 84 pounds to inform people they have a fine to pay. In reality I can get a fine car from Green Motion for a couple of days for the same price.
